Vicente García (born March 30, 1983, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) first
gained recognition as the lead singer of the Dominican funk-infused band Calor
Urbano before launching a solo career in 2011. His debut album Melodrama (2010)
blended sophisticated bachata with Caribbean and soul influences, while his
sophomore album A La Mar (2016), co-produced with Eduardo Cabra, integrated
merengue, reggae, Gagá, and folk rhythms—earning him three Latin Grammy wins,
