American rapper Tyler Gregory Okonma, aka Tyler, the Creator, was born on March
6, 1991 in Hawthorne, California. He taught himself to play the piano from the
age of 14, while at the same time developing a passion for rap. He made his
debut with the OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All) collective in 2007,
and took part in The Odd Future Tape album (2008). This first recording
experience prompted him to release his own mixtape, Bastard, the following year.
