Terrance James Reid, known as Terry Reid, was born on November 13, 1949, in St
Neots (Huntingdonshire), England. He formed his first band, The Redbeats, at 13
and wrote his first song, "Without Expression", at 14. Reid's breakthrough came
when he joined Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers in 1965, opening for The Rolling
Stones on their British tour. His debut single with the Jaywalkers, "The Hand
Don't Fit the Glove", was released in 1967. Reid's solo career began with his
