SAM MORTON
Sam Morton is a musical duo formed by renowned actress and director Samantha
Morton and producer Richard Russell, head of the XL Recordings label. The
project was born in 2020, after Russell heard the actress on BBC's Desert Island
Discs and was deeply moved by her voice and story. This encounter gave birth to
a collaboration that evolved from exchanges of sketches and ideas to completed
studio recordings. Their music blends ambient, trip-hop, dream-pop, downtempo,
dub and spoken word, combining Samantha Morton's ethereal, intimate voice with
