Pery Ribeiro, born Peri Oliveira Martins on October 27, 1937, in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil, was a singer known for his contributions to bossa nova. His musical
career began in 1959 when he adopted the stage name Pery Ribeiro and released
his first single. In 1962, Ribeiro released his debut album, Pery Ribeiro e Seu
Mundo de Canções Românticas, featuring guitar work by Luiz Bonfá. He was one of
