Oliver Dragojević, born on December 7, 1947, in Split, Croatia, was a singer and
composer. He began playing harmonica at age five, later learning piano,
clarinet, and bass guitar. His first performance was at the Split Children's
Festival in 1961 with the song "Baloni" ("Balloons"). He gained wider
recognition with his band Batali and later with composer Zdenko Runjić.
Dragojević's breakthrough at the Split Festival came in 1974 with "Ča će mi
Copacabana." He is known for hits like "Galeb i ja" ("Seagull and I"). Notable
