Nancy King, born on June 15, 1940, in Portland, Oregon, was an American singer
known for her jazz performances. She began her musical journey by performing
with fellow music students at the University of Oregon in 1959. After moving to
San Francisco in 1960, King's scat singing skills led to numerous collaborations
and performances with bebop artists. In 2004, she released Live at Jazz Standard
with pianist Fred Hersch. Throughout her career, Nancy King collaborated with
