Mac and Katie Kissoon, a pop soul duo, were born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and
Tobago. Mac Kissoon was born Gerald Farthing on November 11, 1943, and his
sister Katie Kissoon was born Katherine Farthing on March 11, 1951. The siblings
emigrated to the United Kingdom with their family in 1962. Mac began his career
as a member of the Marionettes in 1966 and 1967, then fronted his own band which
played U.S. bases in Europe. Returning to the UK in 1969, he released "Get Down
