Joyner Lucas is a American rapper noted for his politically-aware songwriting,
remixes, and Grammy-nominated music videos. He was born as Gary Maurice Lucas,
Jr. on August 17, 1988, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Inspired by the likes of
2Pac, Eminem, and Jay-Z, he started composing rhymes as a child and initially
performed under the name of Joyner Future, ultimately changing his stage name to
Joyner Lucas in 2012. In 2015, he released his first mixtape, Along Came Joyner.
