Ilan Amores (born January 21, 1992, in Buenos Aires, raised in Misiones) first
built his musical foundation as a bassist in the Argentine punk band
Argies—touring extensively across European venues—before shifting to a solo
career as Chico Chico around 2019. His debut album Chico Chico (2019) fused the
melancholic “cumbia rebajada” of Monterrey with Argentine cumbia villera, laying
the groundwork for his poetic, emotionally charged songwriting. The follow-up
Buenos Aires (2020) continued his DIY ethos and was followed by a two‑part
