American country singer Ashley Monroe was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on
September 10, 1986. The daughter of music lovers, she took her first piano
lessons at the age of seven and won a singing competition at eleven. After her
father's death, she began writing her own songs, performing in Nashville clubs.
Signed to the Columbia label, she recorded her first album, but its release in
2007 was postponed. Entitled Satisfied, it finally saw the light of day in 2009
and included the duet "I Don't Want To" with Ronnie Dunn (of Brooks & Dunn). In
